About

Greetings, and thanks for checking out my blog.

My name is Mike Lindstrom and I am an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church serving in Pasadena, Texas. That’s the “company line” of who I am, but it is FAR from the whole story. If you’re interested, I’ll give you a bit more info below. If this has been enough – thanks for the visit and come back any time.

My story goes back a long way (but I guess the older I get the further back it goes!). Let me keep it as succinct as possible. I grew up in a good family and during the last years of high school went off into drinking and drugs. Went to college. Failed out of college. Did lots of wrong things – illegal, immoral, improper. God worked to get me back and did. Went back to school. Met my wife (God knew I needed a helpmate). Got married. Both got jobs.

After working a few years God called me into ministry. Went to school. Quit our jobs. Started pastoring churches in Texas- Laneville, Conroe, Longview, Pasadena. God has blessed me to be now in a place where the Spirit is pushing us and we’re trying to keep our feet underneath us. I love to preach (though its not easy and God and I have long discussions in preparation). I love to see people engage with Jesus in a deeper way and begin to “get it” – to get that being a disciple means giving up EVERYTHING and the realizing EVERYTHING is not all it’s cracked up to be.

That’s it in a nutshell.

Peace out.
